This is neither a kit nor a photo-etched set. These are interior features printed in relief and already painted, carried on decal paper: they transfer onto the cockpit parts much like ordinary decals and, once dry, read as a three-dimensional interior fitted with instruments. The modeler thus gets the detail without bending metal and without the laborious painting of tiny dials. The name gives the kit the set is cut for, and also states that this is the smaller version of the set, so do not judge its extent by the full variant.
The North American P-51D is the best-known version of the Mustang: a reworked fuselage spine with a bubble canopy, excellent view to the rear and a British Merlin engine built under license. It was precisely the combination of range and high-altitude performance that made it possible to escort bomber formations over Germany. The P-51K version differs from the D mainly in the propeller used and in the assembly plant. With its large canopy the cockpit of the Mustang is clearly visible, so in 1:32 scale interior detail really tells on a finished model.
