FLY 1:32 Rotachute Mk III is a short-run plastic kit of the British experimental single-seat rotor kite of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:32 scale with additional resin parts, released in short-run production by FLY. It captures the third version of the experimental Rotachute rotor kite. The larger scale brings out both the simple framework construction and the small details.
The Hafner Rotachute was a British experimental single-seat rotor kite of the early 1940s, designed by Raoul Hafner. It was meant to replace the parachute for dropping a single soldier, among other reasons because of a shortage of silk for parachutes. The soldier hung beneath a simple freely turning rotor and descended to the ground without power. The project became the basis of later experiments with rotor-borne carriers.
This is a short-run mold, so expect to clean up the parts and prepare the joints of the fine framework more carefully. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The slender structure benefits from firm, precise gluing and subtle shades when painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
