A combined pack of Eduard accessories for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia fighter in the large 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft model; the parts are fitted to a kit you have already bought. Check the exact make-up of the pack against the description on the packaging and in the instructions.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I was a single-seat fighter with an elliptical wing and the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. The Mk.Ia designation belongs to the form with machine gun armament in the wing, as against the Mk.Ib with cannon armament. In the large 1:32 scale it is exactly the parts the accessory sets aim at that stand out: the cockpit, the instrument panel, the seat with its belts and the intricate landing gear bays.
Fit the accessories as the build progresses, not onto a finished model. The interior has to be finished and painted before you glue the fuselage halves together. Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bend them over a rule or in a bender and glue them with cyanoacrylate, or with two-part epoxy, which gives time to line them up. First cut away the plastic detail the accessory replaces and sand the surface back. Try every part dry before gluing; in a large scale a deviation of a few tenths of a millimeter shows.
