This accessory is a pre-painted three-dimensional instrument panel of colored resin, not an aircraft kit. It is the updated version of the set, meant for Spitfire Mk.IXc models in 1:32 scale. The panel is faithfully painted, with legible dials and imitated gloss on the instrument glasses. The accessory is meant for Tamiya kits.

The real subject

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British single-seat fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 61 engine and its two-stage supercharger. It came about as a quick answer to the German Fw 190 and evened the odds at great heights. The version with the c type wing carried the universal armament layout.

Use and fitting

• Separate the part from its carrier frame and glue it in place of the original panel.
• Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is ideal; modeling PVA glue can be used as well.
• The surface is finished; the dials do not have to be painted in.
