A replacement Stanley Yankee ejection seat in the version for the US Air Force, in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An ejection seat is an emergency system that gets the pilot out of the cockpit in an accident. In the designation Stanley Yankee the first word refers to the American maker of escape systems and the second is the name of a particular form. This is the version used by the US Air Force. The individual services had their seats reworked to their own requirements and differed in harnesses, in headrests and in equipment.
The seat is the first thing a viewer sees in an open cockpit, and the molded part from the kit tends to be simplified: the edges are thick, the straps are missing and the division is only suggested. A replacement seat offers crisper rendering and deeper relief, so that once the canopy is on the cockpit looks inhabited. In 1:32 scale the difference tells even at an ordinary viewing distance in a display case.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the seat seats on the cockpit floor with no gap. The parts are not of polystyrene, so plastic cement has no effect on them; use cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Fit the seat before you close the fuselage up and paint it separately, while it can be reached from every side. The particular fitting procedure is in the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
