1:32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22/24 camouflage pattern paint masks

AML 1:32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22/24 - camouflage pattern masks

A set of self-adhesive masking templates from the Czech manufacturer AML for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the late Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22 and Mk.24 fighter in 1:32 scale. Unlike masks for glazing, these templates lay out the exact boundaries of the camouflage fields on the upper surfaces of the airframe, so that even a broken two-color camouflage pattern goes on quickly and with even transitions. It is not a model and not a decal but an aid for accurate painting.

Use

• First spray the model with the base (lighter) camouflage color and let it dry thoroughly.
• Stick the templates on according to the plan so that they lay out the areas of the second color.
• Spray the darker shade; for a softer transition hold the airbrush a little further from the surface.
• Once dry, peel the masks off carefully and you have a sharp or a gently blurred camouflage pattern.

Who the set is for

• Builders of large models in 1:32 who want an accurate and repeatable camouflage pattern.
• Modelers who do not get on with masking by loose tape or putty.

The masks are single-use. Work over a surface that is perfectly dry and degreased.
