Yak-9 masking set 1:32 (Art Scale)

A set of precisely pre-cut masking templates from Art Scale for the plastic model of the Soviet Yak-9 fighter in 1:32 scale. The templates are die-cut from quality kabuki tape and come numbered and with instructions for placement. It is the single-sided variant, intended for the outer side of the glazing.

The real subject

The Yak-9 was among the most widespread Soviet fighters of the Second World War. It was built in a range of versions, from light fighters to antitank and escort machines; it was noted for good handling and was committed in large numbers on the Eastern Front.

Use

• Pop the parts out of the sheet and transfer them onto degreased canopy glazing.
• The single-sided version masks the outer frames of the canopy; cover with an airbrush or a brush.
• The tape holds a sharp paint edge and keeps paint from flowing onto the glazing.
• Once the paint is dry, peel the templates off carefully; kabuki tape comes away cleanly.

For modelers who want a sharp boundary on the canopy framing in the large 1:32 scale without cutting masks by hand. The templates are designed for the engraving and the shape of a particular kit of this type.
