Kelik 1:72 F-15E Strike Eagle interior 3D decals

An add-on set of 3D decals for the interior of the F-15E Strike Eagle in 1:72 scale from the Kelik brand. It is not an aircraft kit, but an accessory for a part-built model. The set is cut for the Revell kit; for the same type of aircraft the manufacturer also makes a version for the Hasegawa kit, so when choosing, watch which kit you are building: the cockpits differ in size and the set for the other version may not fit.

The real subject

The F-15E Strike Eagle is the two-seat strike version of the F-15 fighter, which kept its ability to fight in the air and added accurate strike in any weather to it. It first flew in 1986 and you can tell it from the single-seat versions by the conformal fuel tanks along the sides of the fuselage. The weapon systems officer sits at the back, and his station has its own set of displays and control panels; the front and the rear cockpit therefore differ markedly from each other, and on a model it shows even if you build with the canopy closed.

Usage tips

• First spray the interior with the base color and let it dry to the touch.
• Degrease the surface before applying them, because detail will not bed down on a greasy base.
• Fit both stations one at a time and keep trying the fit dry.
• Pick up the small parts with tweezers, not with your fingers, because prints on the surface are hard to remove.
