Techmod Ansaldo A.1 Balilla is a plastic kit of the Italian First World War fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Techmod represents the Italian Ansaldo A.1 fighter, nicknamed Balilla, in 1:48 scale. The box combines injection-molded plastic parts with 3D-printed detail and contains a decal sheet with several marking options. It is a modern take on one of the few Italian fighters of the First World War.
The Ansaldo A.1 Balilla was the only fighter that was both designed and built in Italy during the First World War. It grew out of the successful SVA family, from which it differed in its smaller dimensions and a conventional strut-braced wing layout. It did not make much of a mark in the fighter role, but it found use after the war and in export.
On a biplane, pay attention to seating the flying surfaces correctly and to tensioning the bracing wires. Use thin cement on the plastic and glue the 3D-printed parts with cyanoacrylate glue. After a primer, paint with an airbrush; the fine detail and the fabric covering come out best with restrained weathering and emphasized texture.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
