The Riveter Triple riveting wheel in the 0.40 mm version, for creating regular rows of imitation rivets on the surface of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The riveting wheel creates a regular row of small depressions on a smooth surface of a model which, once painted and picked out, look like a riveted joint. The surface of kits tends to be poor in this respect, or on the contrary exaggeratedly coarse, and it is precisely a row of rivets that decides whether a large fuselage or wing surface looks like sheet metal or like plastic.
The number in the name distinguishes the individual versions within the range. A lower value means finer work, so the 0.40 mm version gives a smaller and denser result than the 0.50 mm version. The choice follows the scale of the model and the subject: the smaller the scale, the finer the version that is called for. The exact dimensions and the intended use of the individual versions are stated by the manufacturer.
Run the tool across the surface in a smooth stroke with steady, rather light pressure; it is better to add depth with a second pass than by force. A straight row is kept by guiding it along a ruler, and on curved surfaces along a flexible strip that follows the shape. Try every new spacing on an offcut of the same plastic first, because every plastic reacts differently. After riveting, level the raised edges with a light pass of fine sandpaper and clear the dust off the surface before painting.
The riveting wheel will be appreciated by a modeler who takes on surface work and wants the rivet rows regular even on large areas. Paints, a model and other tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
