Engine fan for the Su-25 Frogfoot 1:48 sharpens up the face that is visible when you look straight into the air intakes. It serves as an improvement to a model of the ground-attack aircraft you already have under way.

Looking into the air intakes of the Su-25 from the front, you see the face of the engine fan, and that is exactly where the eye of anyone examining a finished model up close goes. This item renders the fan in a shape that matches the real thing. It does not make an aircraft; it is a refinement for a model you already have under way.
On this type the air intakes sit low on the sides of the fuselage and are not bent in any way, so they give a straight line of sight. An inaccurate blade shape or a face that is too shallow then has nowhere to hide and spoils otherwise nicely built work. Anyone displaying a model at eye level will appreciate the difference most.
The Frogfoot is subsonic, heavily armored and deliberately simple. Its two engines are housed in separate nacelles so that a hit on one does not mean the loss of the machine. The design took shape in the 1970s for close support of troops and has been through countless repairs and upgrades since; the type still flies and its use tends to get plenty of media coverage.
The face of the fan looks best in a dark metallic shade with lightly polished edges; chrome that is too bright looks toy-like. It is sold on its own and unpainted. The package contains no aircraft model and no modeling chemicals, unless stated otherwise.
