A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for a model of the German Heinkel He 219 Uhu night fighter. The set is not devoted to a combat machine from the front but to an aircraft from the test program, which carried its own test designation and the civil four-character fuselage code given in the name. It is an accessory for a builder, not a kit; you have to have your own model and paints.
The Heinkel He 219 Uhu was a twin-engine night fighter with nosewheel landing gear, a crew seated back to back and a radar antenna array on the nose. It is cited as the first aircraft brought into production with ejection seats, and a whole series of ground and flight tests was connected with that very equipment. Test airframes differed from combat machines in their finish and markings: instead of tactical numbers and unit codes they carried a test designation and a four-character code, which on a model gives away at once that this is not an ordinary production aircraft.
Test airframes tended to have smooth, lighter finishes on which every inaccuracy shows, so polish the surfaces before applying the decals and coat them with a gloss varnish. Trim the film close to the design, seat it and blot the water away. Around the antenna masts and the transitions of the nacelles, a decal softener applied in drops will help. Finally unify the surface with a varnish according to how matte the finished model is to be.
