The accessory brings floor tiling as a ready surface for building a scene. The double size designation in the name is not a mistake but a convention of the maker: a number of its decors are designed so that the pattern holds up at the larger and the smaller figure size alike, and such a double designation appears on dozens of the brand's items. It is a scenic accessory, not a kit of a building.
A tiled floor establishes at once that the space is lived in and looked after. It suits an entrance hall, a shop, a kitchen, a public building and the landing of a stairway. In a half-ruined structure it works the other way round: the regular grid of the tiles gives the viewer a sense of scale, and the rubble that breaks it up stands out all the more strongly.
A badly laid grid gives most away, so lay the direction of the joints out by the walls and only then cut. At thresholds and corners it is better to make the area up from smaller pieces than to bend one large one. A light edge left by cutting can be darkened with a thin line in the shade of the joints. You suggest a floor in use by leaving the dust mainly at the edges and in the corners, while leaving the center worn and cleaner; the opposite looks unnatural.
This is a scenic accessory for finishing a surface. The base, the fixings and the paints for weathering are not included, unless stated otherwise.
