Six vessels in the damaged rendition designated as type 3. The set belongs among the small props that are placed around a base and give a scene its action. It contains neither a model of a machine nor parts of one. The manufacturer makes damaged drums in three types, and this is the last of them.
It does not pay to scatter props evenly. One denser group and a few lone pieces further from it give a better result, because the eye then travels across the base instead of stopping straight away. Avoid symmetry too: two drums equally distant on either side of a vehicle look artificial. Place the last piece right at the edge of the base; that visually extends the scene beyond its rim.
Leave the damaged areas matte and rather coarse, while the remnants of the original finish can stay somewhat smoother. The difference in surface will do more for credibility than the color itself. At the end unify everything with fine dust matching the terrain and dust the points of contact with the ground especially carefully. Bring the grass or rubble around a vessel right up to the body, otherwise the prop will look as though it is floating. On lying pieces check that they touch the ground along their whole length; a gap under the body is noticed at once.
