About product

Flight helmet APH-6D (1:35, Firma49)

A resin flight helmet of the APH-6D type in 1:35 scale, meant for detailing pilot figures and scenes with jet aircraft. The APH-6D was the standard protective flight helmet of the US Navy and the Marine Corps in the 1960s and 1970s. The part is made by high-resolution 3D printing, so it faithfully captures the shape of the shell and the fittings. It serves as an accessory to a figure or as a standalone detail for a cockpit.

Uses

The helmet can be fitted to the head of a pilot figure, laid in a cockpit or placed on equipment in a diorama. In 1:35 scale it suits fine painting of the shell, the raised features and the straps.

Use and tips

  • Separate the part from the print supports and wash the print resin residue off it.
  • Glue it with a super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • Paint the shell by airbrush and bring the details out with a dry brush and a wash.
  • Protect your airways when sanding resin.

Who the set is for

For figure painters and builders of aviation dioramas who want an accurate period pilot's helmet.

This is an accessory, not a complete figure. The paints and the glue are not included in the package.
