The item 1:35 2A46 Gun Barrel for T-64A from the brand PANZER ART brings a single part: a barrel that you exchange on a tank under construction for the one from the box. It is therefore not a kit, and the basic model is not included. The gain is visible mainly at the muzzle and in the smoothness of the outline, which on split plastic barrels tends to be disturbed by the sanding of the seam.
The T-64A was a Soviet main battle tank developed in the Kharkiv design bureau and taken into service from the end of the 1960s. It brought a combination of a low silhouette, automatic loading and layered armor protection, thanks to which it was a technically very ambitious solution for its time. It carries a smoothbore gun of 125 millimeters caliber.
Make the cut perpendicular, otherwise the barrel will turn to one side after gluing. It proves itself to drill the seating surface out carefully and to add a short pin of wire, which strengthens the joint and at the same time secures the correct axis. Apply the paint only once the joint has matured, so that it is not dissolved. With longer barrels, make sure before painting that the part does not describe a slight arc, which happens with storage in a warm place. Any bending can with some materials be straightened carefully with lukewarm water, but proceed in small steps.
