A set of photo-etched parts for detailing the kit of the German tank destroyer Jagdpanther Ausf. G1 from the Academy company in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jagdpanther, in German designation Sd.Kfz. 173, was a tank destroyer built on the chassis of the medium tank Panther. In a fixed superstructure with heavily sloped armor plates it carried the 88 mm Pak 43 gun, whose barrel measured seventy-one calibers. The designation Ausf. G1 distinguishes a production form of the vehicle.
These are photo-etched parts intended for the Academy kit in 1:35 scale. Photo-etched parts are used where a plastic part necessarily comes out thicker than the real subject calls for: thin sheet-metal features keep the right thickness and sharp edges thanks to them. Which parts they replace on the model and how they are positioned is given in the instructions from the manufacturer.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a firm surface and sand what remains of the tab with a file. Make the bends on the edge of a steel rule or in a bending tool, always along the whole length at once, so that the part does not buckle. They are bonded with a tiny amount of super glue, and on larger areas epoxy holds more reliably. Before painting, degrease the metal and use primer, otherwise the paint does not hold on the smooth surface.
The set is for modelers who want to move a kit to a higher level of detail and do not mind working with tweezers. Unless stated otherwise, the kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
