Figures in 1:35 scale from the firm Bravo 6. The 1:35 scale is the most common one for armored and wheeled equipment, so the set suits the absolute majority of military kits and a diorama built around them. An adult figure measures around fifty millimeters in this scale, which is a size on which the expression as well as the cut of the kit can be seen. It is precisely a human figure that gives a model scale: only beside one can you tell how high the crew sits and how large the vehicle really is. First wash and degrease the parts, or the paint will not hold on the surface. Cut surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the relief of the cloth does not disappear. The most work is always taken by cleaning up the parting plane at the shoulders, at the waist and where the head is fitted, because that is exactly where it is most conspicuous on a finished figure. If the figure is divided into several parts, try the joints out dry and only then glue them with cyanoacrylate super glue; fill small gaps with putty before painting, as they are hard to put right later.
Start with a thin coat of base paint, which will unify the surface and show up any unfinished places. Then go about it in the usual way: the base shade, a dark wash into the folds and finally a lightening of the high points. Leave the face and the hands until the end, as they will take only thin coats. Set the figure into a scene only once painted.
