Decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals with the markings of the Centurion tanks of the British 8th K.R.I.H unit in the Korean War in 1950 and 1951. The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit.
The Centurion was a British tank designed at the end of the Second World War, but it never saw action in it. Korea thus became the first theater where it proved itself in greater numbers, and it decided its reputation. Conditions there did not suit it: hilly terrain, muddy slopes and hard winters tested both the running gear and the crews. The British 8th K.R.I.H unit served with it in Korea in the first year of the war, when the front moved across the whole peninsula several times and the units often moved under their own power.
The Korean environment offers a rewarding combination: wet mud on the underside of a vehicle and dry dust on the upper surfaces. Proceed in layers, then: first the base coat, then the gloss varnish and the decals, then the matte unification and only at the end the mud and the dust. Let the markings show through in places, as if the crew kept them legible. The running gear and the fenders deserve the most work; keep the upper armor cleaner, so that the contrast is preserved.
