This item is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masking templates in 1:35 scale for the glazing of the AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter. It is not a model but an accessory that makes spraying the cockpit frames faster and more precise. The templates are cut for AH-1G models from ICM, for the early and the late production version alike.
The double-sided form is what sets it apart from the single-sided variant: besides the outer parts it also holds parts for the inner side of the glazing. The frames can thus be painted from both sides, and when you look into the cockpit no translucent plastic is left on the inner edge of the frames. On the tandem cockpit of the Cobra, where the inside is clearly visible, that counts noticeably.
The cockpit of the Cobra has a great many narrow, long frames. Cutting tape by hand makes it hard to achieve the same width on the left and the right, and asymmetry is the first thing the eye notices on a finished model. Pre-cut templates remove that problem.
