A spraying stencil in 1:35 scale for applying stains and running streaks to the surface of a model. The subject can be used over and over.
Responsibility details are not available.
A stencil for an airbrush makes it easier to apply the irregular stains and running streaks that form around filler necks, lids, joints and riveted seams. The subjects are drawn for 1:35 scale, so the size of the marks matches vehicles and dioramas in that scale.
Lay the stencil on a dry, degreased surface at the place where the mark is to form and hold it so that no paint runs under it. Apply the paint well thinned and in several light passes, at right angles to the surface and at low pressure. The depth of the tone then builds up gradually and the edges stay soft.
Choose a shade only a little darker or lighter than the ground, because streaks look believable only once they repeat at various intensities. By turning the stencil or partly covering the subject you get a different mark every time. Try the setting of the airbrush out beforehand on an offcut of plastic or on card rather than straight on the model.
It will be appreciated by builders of vehicles and dioramas who want to add the traces of use without laborious brushwork, and it also serves for unifying a surface at the end. Paints, thinner and the model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
