A set of replacement arms for figures in 1:35 scale. It is neither a figure nor a kit but parts with which you replace the original arms and get a pose other than the one the basic casting offers. It is precisely the arms that decide whether a figure merely stands in a scene or is doing something, so this is one of the most effective ways to bring a whole arrangement to life.
The typical use is the conversion of a figure from a kit on which the head and the torso fit, but the stance of the arms does not match the intended scene. The set also suits cases where you want to use the same figure several times and need every copy to look different. In a multi-element diorama it is a simpler route than obtaining further figures. Work with regard to the proportions; the arms have to match the size of the torso and the length of the sleeve.
Cut the original arm off at the shoulder or just above the sleeve, so that the cut stays covered by the clothing. Separate the new part from the casting residue, sand the surface down and wash the casting in lukewarm water with a detergent. Glue the dry part with super glue, best a gel one, because it allows the arm to be turned for a while before the joint sets. Try the position dry and find the angle at which the figure comes across naturally. Fill the gap in the joint with a modeling compound and sand it over once dry; on a sleeve you can model a fold straight away, so that the transition disappears. A primer and painting follow, the skin of the hands separately and the cloth of the sleeve separately. A wash into the folds and a fine highlight on the edges will hide the transition for good.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Glue, paints, modeling compound and the figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
