This Star Decals item belongs to the less usual subjects: the markings of Australian armored vehicles of the Second World War. The name gives the Matilda Frog flame tank and M4 Sherman tanks, including the version with the Composite hull. The decals are equipment for a model already built in 1:35 scale, not a kit.
Australian armored units fought in the southwest Pacific in conditions that bore no resemblance at all to the European battlefield: jungle, mud, short distances and fighting in close cooperation with infantry. Thanks to its heavy armor the Matilda infantry tank stood up there better than faster types, and the Australians derived from it the Frog flame version, on which a flamethrower worked in place of the gun armament. The Sherman was built with several forms of hull, and the Composite designation concerns the combination of a cast front with a welded remainder, so the shape of the nose is the mark of the version.
Australian vehicles wore simple muted finishes on which even small tactical emblems stand out. Polish the area under the decal with a gloss varnish, soften the broken-up places around rivets and lifting eyes by pressing with a cotton swab and let it dry without moving it. Add the tropical patina, that is dried mud and rubbing from branches, only right at the end.
The model, the paints and the glues do not come with the decals.
