A sheet of decals in 1:35 scale for the Australian Matilda infantry tanks in the version with the 2-pounder gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Matilda is a British infantry tank, that is a machine built for strong armor and a slow advance with the infantry, not for rapid thrusts. In the version with the 2-pounder gun it became the mainstay of the Australian units in the southwest Pacific, where the heavy armor suited it and its low speed did not matter so much in the jungle. The Australian machines, moreover, were set apart from the European ones by their coats and their markings.
The sheet in 1:35 scale is devoted to precisely these Australian Matildas in the version with the gun. The elements are arranged so that several different machines can be marked from one sheet. The breakdown of the variants, their colored grounds and the exact placing of the elements on a model are given in the instructions supplied with the sheet.
Cut an element out with sharp scissors close to the printing and soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water. As soon as it begins to slide freely over the backing paper, transfer it onto a smooth, glossy and degreased surface. Press the excess water out with a soft cloth, help matters with a softener at the side skirts over the running gear and at the edges, and once it has dried go over the area with varnish, so that the edges of the carrier film disappear.
The sheet is for builders of British and Allied armored equipment in 1:35 scale who are drawn to the Pacific theater instead of the usual Europe and North Africa. A model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
