An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the modern tracked vehicle with its characteristic turret carrying combined armament. Zvezda kits offer a good level of detail and do not overwhelm the builder with an excessive number of parts, which makes the model a rewarding project.
The BMP-3 is the successor to the older BMP-1 and BMP-2 types; it entered service at the end of the 1980s. It is among the most heavily armed vehicles of its class, because the turret combines a 100 mm weapon, a 30 mm automatic cannon and machine guns; the vehicle carries a crew and an infantry section and is fully amphibious. The combination of firepower and mobility makes it a versatile infantry fighting vehicle used in a number of armies.
Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and the tracks before the hull is closed up. Assemble the turret and its armament carefully because of the fit. An airbrush suits the modern Russian single-color finish or a three-tone camouflage; suggest the wear with chipped edges, a dark wash in the details and dust and mud pigments on the running gear. Do not overdo rust on a modern vehicle; dust and oil stains work better.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
