An injection-molded plastic kit of the Bofors automatic anti-aircraft gun of 40 mm caliber in the American M1 form, in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model carries over the fine detail of the mount, the barrel, the sighting mechanism and the wheeled carriage; for the exact package contents and the number of parts, go by the instructions.
The Bofors 40 mm is a Swedish automatic anti-aircraft gun that spread to a number of armies during the Second World War and after it. The United States Army adopted it under the designation 40 mm Gun M1. The weapon was moved on a two-axle wheeled carriage and was set down on outriggers for firing. Thanks to its high rate of fire and its reliability it was among the most successful light anti-aircraft weapons of its day.
Pay attention to the fine parts of the mount and the sights, which have to be glued precisely and with a light touch. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, sand the joints down and treat the surface with primer. Lay the finish on with an airbrush, and fine-tune the metal areas of the barrel and the mechanism with a dry brush and light washes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
