Boots of mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger) in 1:35 scale are a conversion accessory for figures, not a finished figure. Use them to replace ordinary footwear where a figure is to belong to the mountain troops.

An accessory for figures in 1:35 scale, namely the footwear of mountain troops. It is not a figure and not a kit; these are parts for a conversion. On a figure, footwear is a small thing nobody notices until it is wrong, and at the same time it is one of the few marks by which a mountain soldier is told from ordinary infantry at a glance.
Mountain troops wore sturdy laced boots with a heavy sole fitted with nails, which held on rock and ice. The cut was higher than on ordinary footwear and it was completed by puttees or short gaiters. It is exactly this combination of a higher cut, a coarse sole and a wrapped calf that makes a silhouette you will not find on an infantry figure.
Cut the original leg off above the ankle or where the puttee starts on the trouser leg, so that the joint stays hidden. Separate the new parts from the casting remnant, sand the face and wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue; the gel version lets the boots be set so that the figure stands firmly and does not rock. Fill the seam with modeling putty, and at the transition into the puttee it is worth modeling a few turns of cloth right away. After the primer, paint the leather of the boots separately and set it apart from the cloth. Pull out the nails on the sole with a dry brush in a dark metal shade, but do not overdo it, as a hint is enough in 1:35 scale. The boots are the lowest part of the figure, so they deserve the most dust and mud, matched to the base of the diorama.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a figure. Glue, paints, modeling putty and a figure are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
