This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to complete and refine the details of a plastic model of the British 25-pounder field gun in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the gun but a set of photo-etched parts with fine metal items that replace or complete the plastic items of the carriage and the shield.
The Ordnance QF 25 pounder was a British field gun and howitzer, the main artillery weapon of the Commonwealth in the Second World War. It excelled in reliability, range and versatility and was used on most theaters. A characteristic feature was the turntable platform under the carriage, which allowed quick traverse.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, bend them in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The fine metal items of the shield and the carriage raise the realism markedly. Degrease the metal surfaces before painting and put primer under them.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model of the gun. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
