The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard imitates the zimmerit surface treatment on a model of the German Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind anti-aircraft tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory that transfers the characteristic ridged texture of the anti-magnetic coating onto the armored surfaces of a model.
The Wirbelwind was a German anti-aircraft tank of the Second World War built on the chassis of the Panzer IV. In its open rotating turret it carried a four-barrel 20mm Flakvierling gun meant for defense against low-flying aircraft. At that time zimmerit was applied to vertical armored surfaces against magnetic mines.
Apply the set to a clean, degreased surface according to the layout and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Work area by area so that the pattern lines up. Once dry, go on to painting and patina; the texture of the zimmerit will stand out after a wash and a dry brush.
This is an accessory zimmerit application set, not a model of the vehicle. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
