This British heavy howitzer belonged to the artillery of the higher formations and was deployed on a number of fronts of the Second World War. It was marked out by a massive barrel on a wheeled carriage and was used to fire on well-fortified and distant targets. The sights, the carriage and the large wheels with their solid rubber tires are characteristic of the real subject.
With artillery hardware it pays to build in subassemblies, that is, the carriage, the cradle and the barrel separately, so that they can be painted comfortably. Glue with liquid cement for plastic. Once the base tone is sprayed on, the details will show with the help of washes and drybrushing, and mud and dust pigments will give the gun a faithful field look. The model also comes into its own in a diorama with a crew.
