1:35 British RAC officers, North Africa — a set of figures is a resin set of officer figures in tropical dress. It puts a group into a scene rather than a single figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of figures in 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand. Against the separate numbered officers of the same line it offers more figures in one package, so you can put together a group with a consistent treatment of both the clothing and the pose.
A group of officers works in a diorama as a unit of action in its own right: the figures stand facing one another, one points, another listens, and the vehicle becomes a backdrop instead of the main element. Compositionally that means laying the figures out so that their lines of sight meet at one point — ideally over a map, on the horizon or on part of the vehicle. A group where everyone looks elsewhere reads as randomly placed pieces. The clothing matches the tropical setting of North Africa: a light, loose cut of light fabric, with bare arms. Light fabric has little contrast of its own, so shade it with several thin glazes instead of one dark stroke. At the same time leave each figure in the group a slightly different shade — the fading of fabric differed from piece to piece, and a small difference saves a set from reading as though the figures had been sprayed all at once.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, sand wet and with breathing protection. Gluing with cyanoacrylate glue, the gaps at the shoulders and the neck filled and sanded. Choose a light primer. Lead the painting from the bottom: a mid layer of the fabric, slight lightening of the edges, a glaze shadow, then the skin in three tones. Finish with a matte clear coat and fine light dust with pigment on the footwear and the bottoms of the trouser legs; the difference between a dusted hem and a clean upper part is what settles a scene into a desert setting.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
