Figures of a British armored vehicle crew in Afghanistan, 1:35 scale. A set marked with the number one in the name.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject is a British armored vehicle crew on the Afghan deployment. The number in the name sets this set apart from the other items of the line with the same name, so they can be assembled side by side and used to man one vehicle or a whole column. The 1:35 scale matches ordinary kits of armored and wheeled vehicles.
Crew figures prove themselves in two positions: in hatches, where the upper half of the figure is enough, and outside beside the vehicle at a halt. In both cases they give the model scale and a story. Before gluing, it is a good idea to try a figure in a hatch dry, because every kit has its turret and hatches in a slightly different place. The detailed composition of the set and the breakdown of the parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry so that the paint holds. Cut any excess material away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder with fine abrasive paper. Choose both glue and paints to match the material of the parts. Modern British uniforms have a broken-up camouflage pattern, which it makes sense to paint from photographs, working from the base tone toward the shadows and the highlights. A dusty breath on the footwear and the trouser legs reliably settles the scene into its setting.
For modelers of modern British hardware and for builders of dioramas who have a finished vehicle but no people for it.
Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
