A figure of a British tanker in the one-piece oversuit that became known under the name Pixie, in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
British tank crews wore in service at their vehicle a one-piece oversuit that became known under the name Pixie. It was put on over the uniform, protected against cold and dirt inside the vehicle and left the crew freedom of movement in the cramped fighting space. The figure captures the loader, that is the member of the crew who passes rounds to the gun.
It is a single figure in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale in which the great majority of kits of armored equipment is issued. It suits completing a finished model, a diorama and standing on its own in a display case, where it will give a scene a human dimension and a clear sense of size.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remaining transition with fine sandpaper. Before painting, wash the figure in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry perfectly, otherwise paint holds on the surface less well. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. A thin coat of primer proves its worth, on it the shades of skin and clothing in two to three thin layers and at the end shading with a darker tone into the folds. Leave the eyes and small extras to the very end, when the rest of the figure is done and there is no risk of smudging them during further work.
The figure will be appreciated by modelers of armored equipment who want to show at a finished vehicle how the crew worked, and by builders of dioramas looking for a figure in working clothing without full gear. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
