A British tank crew in the Pixie suit, 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand is a figure accessory to models of British tanks from the last months of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure set from the Polish brand PANZER ART completes models of British tanks from the end of the Second World War. The figures have on them the one-piece oversuit that British tankers nicknamed Pixie, and they are modeled into the poses a crew takes up around open hatches. The set serves for finishing off a completed model or scene; the vehicle itself is not part of it.
The oversuit introduced with the British tank arm in the last phase of the war was worn over the ordinary uniform. It was padded against cold, had a hood and long zips run so that it could be taken off quickly even in the tight space of a fighting vehicle. Thanks to its characteristic cut a British crew is told apart from an American or a German one at first glance, and the scene gains a clear placement in time as well as by nation.
First try the seating dry: line the figures belonging in the hatches up with the turret before anything is glued, and adjust the seating surfaces as needed. The suit forms large soft folds, which suit a lighter base tone, a darker shade rubbed into the grooves and a fine bringing out of the edges. Finish the skin and the small things only at the end, so that they do not disappear under further layers.
