A modeling acrylic paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, the manufacturer's part number RC874, in a 17 ml package. The abbreviation S.C.C. stands for Standard Camouflage Colour, the British standard designation for camouflage shades. Number 2 is a brown.

The color

Brown number 2 belongs to the older part of the British system and on vehicles it preceded the very dark brown number 1A. On a model you will use it on British equipment of the early period, either as an overall finish or as one component of a two-color camouflage. Away from that subject it suits as a general earth brown for wood, leather, straps and cargo.

How to work with the paint

• Stir the contents of the bottle well before taking any out; the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Build the paint up from several thin coats; a single heavy coat floods engraving and rivets.
• For two-color camouflage, let the first coat dry completely before you apply the second shade.
• For thinning and for cleaning tools, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors range; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Try the tone on a scrap; brown shades usually darken once dry.

Packaging and storage

Always close the bottle carefully and keep it away from heat and frost. Paint that has thickened can be thinned, but check the final shade on a test sample. The package contains one bottle of paint of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
