An injection-molded plastic kit of the Canadian Ram Kangaroo armored personnel carrier in the Mk.II late production version in 1:35 scale from the maker Gecko Models. The kit offers a full engine compartment and interior, individual track links, photo-etched and clear parts and a set of additional stowage. Check the exact contents of the package and the decals (several marking variants) against the details on the box.
The Ram Kangaroo was an improvised armored personnel carrier created by converting the Canadian Ram tank. The turret and the internal ammunition stowage were removed from the hull and seats for infantry were added, so that the vehicle carried soldiers safely right up to the line. The Kangaroos proved themselves from the fighting in Normandy through the liberation of the Netherlands to the end of the war with British and Canadian units.
Build and paint the full interior and the engine in stages before the hull is closed. Glue the parts with a liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate, and assemble the link tracks with a slight sag. Apply a primer and paint with an airbrush — Allied vehicles carried an olive green shade. Emphasize the panel lines with a wash, suggest the dust and mud with pigments and add the loaded material.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
