Tracks for models of the Centurion series of tanks in 1:35 scale from AFV Club are a replacement set of the link and length type with simplified assembly - an accessory, not a model.

This is not a kit of a tank but replacement tracks meant for models of the British Centurion tank and its derivatives in 1:35 scale. The set is arranged on the link and length system: the straight runs of the track above the upper run and under the hull are made as one-piece parts, while at the places where it bends over the drive sprocket and the idler the individual links are assembled. The maker calls the set quick assembly, because there are markedly fewer links to put together than with fully linked tracks. The exact number of parts and the extent of the set are given by the instructions in the package.
On a model of a tank the tracks are the part everyone notices first. The vinyl tracks supplied in basic kits hold a sag badly, are harder to paint and may deform over time; fully linked tracks, on the other hand, mean hundreds of parts and hours of work. A link and length set is a compromise between the two: on the straight runs the work is done in a moment, while on the wheels a natural shape arises without bending by force. Another benefit is that the tracks can be painted and weathered with the same technique and the same materials as the rest of the model, because they are of the same material as the other plastic parts.
Assemble them straight on the model, but do not glue the tracks permanently; leave the individual runs free until you have the running gear and the hull sprayed. Glue the links on the wheels with a thin cement in small runs and press them into the right shape before it dries, which will fix the sag that arises. Start the painting with a dark base, go on with a dry brush on the edges of the guide teeth and the contact faces and finish the surface with pigments according to the setting the equipment is to belong to. Leave the inner sides of the tracks and the faces touching the road glossier and lighter than the rest.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
