A precise detail set from Voyager Model in 1:35 scale representing the Chinese Type 92 anti-aircraft machine gun together with ammunition boxes. The set is made up of fine photo-etched and additional parts. It is not a kit of a whole vehicle but a stand-alone accessory that will liven up the roof of an armored personnel carrier, the body of a vehicle or a diorama scene.
Anti-aircraft machine guns are used on ground vehicles to defend against low-flying targets and to fire at lightly protected ground targets. The weapon is usually mounted on a pintle by the commander's hatch or on a separate mount; ammunition boxes are part of the typical equipment of the crew. The set therefore makes it possible to add armament faithfully to modern and older PLA vehicles alike.
Separate the small photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a mat and bend them in a bender or with a steel ruler. Bond the assembly with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and the joints can be reinforced with a drop of glue from the inside. Degrease the parts before painting. Metal benefits from a good base coat (a primer) and from subsequent accentuation of the shadows with a wash, and the ammunition boxes will take restrained wear.
The accessory does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is intended for completing a kit you already have.
