A diorama accessory for a scene in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle but building blocks with which an ordinary city detail can be brought into a view. It is the last number of the RT-Diorama block range, so it combines well with the earlier variants.
In city building the block turns up mainly where something is being repaired or added to: a bricked-up window on the ground floor, a new partition in an archway, a lean-to in a backyard, a makeshift wall around the bins. In scenes from modern conflicts it is one of the most typical materials of all - ordinary houses as well as hastily built positions in windows and passages are made from blocks. The element therefore works in a civilian and a military view alike.
In a street scene it pays to concentrate the material at one house and leave the rest of the street clear. The viewer then reads a clear story: work was going on here, a position was held here. A few pieces dragged along the sidewalk and one at the edge of the roadway suggest that the material was carried by hand. The blocks also suit a position under a window as an improvised step for a figure or as a support for a crate and a barrel. When the elements are set out in an irregular line, the scene gains the depth a straight row never has.
