This is a comprehensive photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard, not a vehicle kit. It is made for a plastic model of the British Coyote TSV tactical support vehicle in 1:35. The photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet replace and supplement items that cannot be made in a matching thickness in plastic: grilles, grates, screens, brackets, holders, eyes and small fittings. The Coyote is an open vehicle with no closed hull, so practically everything on it shows, including the frames, the brackets and the stowage of the load. That is exactly why an investment in photo-etching tells more strongly here than on vehicles with a full armored box, and the extent of this set matches that.
The Coyote TSV is a British high-mobility wheeled vehicle with all-wheel drive, created as the logistic and support variant within a family of light vehicles for operations in difficult terrain. It is built open, with a high chassis, long suspension travel and room for cargo, fuel and ammunition. The vehicle escorts the smaller patrol machines of the same family and extends their range and supplies. It was used in overseas operations, where getting across soft and broken terrain was the main requirement.
The set is extensive, so count on longer work and go subassembly by subassembly rather than all at once. Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, and sand the surface under the part. On an open vehicle, finish and paint the inner parts of the frame before you cover them with the body or the load. Degrease and prime the metal. At the end add dust pigments into the gaps and around the running gear, because on this type of vehicle that is what makes the final impression.
The set is neither a model nor a kit; it is an add-on to a model sold separately. The paints, the glue and the tools are not included in the package.
