Metal tracks Cruiser A9 Mk.I / A10 Mk.II (1:35, Friulmodel)

An accessory, not a tank model. These are replacement workable metal tracks cast from white metal for the British Cruiser A9 Mk.I and A10 Mk.II tanks in 1:35 scale from Friulmodel. The set replaces the plastic or rubber tracks from the box kit with more faithful metal tracks made up of individual links, which stay movable once put together and look realistic. The set contains 150 links and usually a length of wire for the connecting pins.

What the accessory is for

Compared with the parts from the box, metal link tracks have their main advantage in weight and a natural sag - thanks to their own mass they settle onto the return rollers and sag realistically between them, which plastic or rubber tracks cannot match. At the same time they take paint and weathering better (rubbed metal, rust, dust). The set is meant for kits of the A9 and A10 cruiser tanks from the matching manufacturers in the same scale.

Fitting and painting

• Join the links one by one with pins from the enclosed wire - a workable track results.
• It is best to assemble the track directly around the rollers of the model and to shape the sag right away.
• White metal is soft - handle the parts carefully so that they do not bend.
• Degrease the metal parts and go over them with primer, otherwise the paint holds badly.
• Paint with a dark metallic base, pick out the rubbing on the edges and finish with rust and dust pigments.

For modelers building the Cruiser A9 or A10 tanks in 1:35 scale who want to lift the look of the tracks. Working with metal link tracks calls for patience, but the result raises the realism of the running gear markedly.

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base tank kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
