Responsibility details are not available.
This element for building scenes from Pimp My Miniatures captures a draft horse lying with a visibly bloated body. In shape it differs from the calmer position on its side offered by a sister item in the same series, and in 1:35 scale it suits scenes set several days after fighting.
Despite the spread of motorization, horse power remained the backbone of supply for many armies throughout the Second World War. It pulled guns, field kitchens and ammunition wagons, and losses among the animals were enormous. That is exactly why a fallen horse appears so often in period photographs from the roads of retreat, and in a modeling scene it is one of the elements that give a build historical credibility without needless gore.
The coat is best built from a darker base toward the lightened areas: brown and dun shades, a dark wash into the muscle grooves and a hint of dust on the upper side. The taut skin over the body will take a somewhat lighter tone that makes the shape legible. Terrain material belongs under the belly and under the legs so that the part does not hang above the base. Sealing everything with a matte varnish and adding pigments in the color of the road is advisable.
The figure is unpainted; paints, pigments and the base underneath it are not supplied.
