Decals for German turret tactical numbers of the Second World War, part 12 in 1:35 scale from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models. A waterslide sheet for models of armored vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twelfth sheet from the series of German turret tactical numbers in 1:35 scale by the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models. It is not a kit but a decal sheet in its own right, with which a model of an armored vehicle that is already built and painted is finished. The decals are the classic waterslide kind.
Turret numbers were a field identification feature: by them the individual vehicles in a unit were told apart. The particular look followed the customs of the unit in question and the period, so solid digits, outline digits and digits edged in a contrasting color are all met with, in various sizes and proportions. A multipart series covers that variety step by step, so that a modeler can pick the style matching the subject.
Spray the place with gloss clear coat before applying. Cut the design out as close to the artwork as possible, so that a minimum of carrier film is left, soak it in lukewarm water and slide it onto the model once it has released. A decal softener helps on a busy surface and at the rounded edges of a turret. Once it has dried, unify the whole model with a matte or semi-matte varnish, and only then do washes and pigments come into play. If you weather a model heavily, let part of the digit dust over slightly, as that looks more natural than a crisp clean design on a weathered vehicle.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
