A diorama base with a damaged field kitchen in 1:35 captures the rear, not combat hardware. The scene is cast as one piece and is waiting only for paint and patina.

A scene for 1:35 scale whose subject is a field kitchen that has taken damage. The terrain and the main motif form one casting, so you do not have to take on modeling the ground or assembling small equipment from plastic section.
Most dioramas show hardware and machines, but it is the rear that tends to be far more readable for a viewer: everyone recognizes a pot, a stove and crockery. A field kitchen also brings different materials from armored vehicles: sheet metal, enamel, wood and soft textile shapes. The combination of these surfaces on one piece is an ideal school of painting, because each of them calls for a slightly different approach.
The basis is a thin primer and a division of the surfaces by material. Keep the enameled parts in a deep, smooth color and hint at the chipped places with a dark line around the edge of the chip, never with a light patch alone. Sheet metal responds well to fine layering of rust from two or three shades of orange and brown. Build ash and burnt areas with gray pigment drawn to the sides, and lighten the wood with a dry brush instead, so that the grain stands out. Finally join the terrain with dust that spills over the edges of the objects.
The scene comes in its raw state; paints, pigments and figures do not belong to it and you add them separately.
