A more extensive Black Dog diorama scene in which a knocked-out main battle tank plays the leading role. A scene like this can carry a display on its own without a further model, because it holds enough shapes and story by itself.
The M1A1 Abrams is an American main battle tank of the 1980s which, against the first version, received a larger gun and strengthened protection. It is powered by a gas turbine, an unusual solution among tanks, and its angular shapes with the pronounced mass of the turret are among the best-recognized silhouettes of modern hardware.
A large surface tempts you into a flat coat, yet that is exactly what gives it away the most. Play the shade out panel by panel, give them slightly different tones and only then even the whole thing out with a thin filter. Deal with the damaged places at the end, and work from the darkest tones toward the light ones.
The scene has a pronounced mass, so give it room. Place it in the case so that the light falls from above and slightly from the side; hard frontal lighting suppresses the shadows and the relief of the surface disappears.
Paints, weathering materials and additional figures are not included in this item.
