The El Alamein diorama base in 1:35 scale from RT-Diorama — a scene base from the North African battlefield, cast in modeling plaster.
Responsibility details are not available.
A diorama base (scene base) with the North African battlefield motif of El Alamein in 1:35 scale from RT-Diorama. This is not a vehicle model but a terrain base to stand under the main model and the figures. It is made of modeling plaster on a wooden backing and measures roughly 43.5 x 30 cm; laser-cut elements such as windows and doors are usually included. The set is meant to be glued and painted; check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
El Alamein evokes the desert campaign in North Africa during the Second World War. The base provides a finished terrain foundation for tanks, vehicles and figures — a broken wall, a sandy surface and period architecture that let the scene come to life.
The plaster surface is absorbent and takes acrylic paints, washes and pigments very well. Build up sand and dust with a dry brush and with sand pigments in beige and ocher tones; bring the masonry to life with filters and a wash. Place the vehicles so that the tracks in the sand and the dust carry over onto the base.
The base is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, figures and the main model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
