A resin casting of the base of a female figure in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but an accessory for figures, for modelers who put a figure for a scene together part by part. Female figures are substantially rarer in the range of figures than soldiers, so this base solves the situation where you need someone other than a vehicle crew for a civilian or rear-area scene.

What a figure base is for

The base determines the stance and the proportions, while the particular character of a figure then arises from fitting a head, hands and headgear and working the clothing up with filler. Thanks to that it is possible to build a different figure out of the same casting every time and to avoid repeating the same poses over and over. In 1:35 scale an adult figure measures around five centimeters, which is a size on which fine details tell well.

Cleaning up, fitting and painting

Before working, wash the casting in lukewarm water with a detergent and let it dry through properly, otherwise the paint will not hold on residues of the release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw or a cutter and level the surface with a file and fine sandpaper, best wet and with protection for your airways. Resin is glued with super glue; glue for plastic has no effect on it. Fill the seams left after the parts have been fitted with filler or a two-part compound and sand them over. It is painted over a thin base coat, and the skin and the cloth then with acrylic and graded shading, with a wash to accentuate the recesses.
