An animal figure in its own right from the workshop of the brand Spalah, made by 3D printing in resin. The horse is among the most universal accessories that can be obtained for a military or a civil scene, because it can be worked into scenes from the nineteenth century right up to the present.
Armies used horses to pull guns and wagons deep into the Second World War, and in farming they were counted on long afterwards. In a diorama it fills two roles at once: it gives the scene life and at the same time offers the viewer a reference for judging sizes, because everyone can picture how large such an animal really is. Beside a vehicle or a house it therefore reveals at once whether the scale is right. A pair of animals standing side by side will also give a scene movement that equipment alone never has.
Apply the base tone thinly and in several coats, so that the shade underneath shows through and the coat does not come across as flat. Work the mane and the tail up in a darker color and lighten them with the tips of the brush. The sheen of the hide is suggested by lightening the back and the shoulders noticeably, while darkening the belly and the lower legs with dust.
The animal is sold on its own and with no finish; count on painting as a separate job.
