A decal sheet in 1:48 scale focused on machines of the Luftwaffe that were derived from fighter types and adapted for reconnaissance duties. These aircraft differed from the combat versions not only in equipment but often in markings and supplementary lettering as well. The sheet is a standalone accessory for the modeler, not a kit.
Reconnaissance variants of fighters are among the subjects that kit manufacturers cover only in passing: the box usually holds markings for the ordinary combat version. A standalone sheet fills that gap and makes it possible to build a machine that differs from the standard version. You will also use it when you want to turn one kit into a less usual variant, or when the original markings from the box are damaged.
German fighters tend to have broken areas on the fuselage: panel lines, panels, raised details. So that a decal follows the shape and does not stay stretched over an engraved line like a bridge, use a decal softener. The work goes in two steps: a decal setting solution is laid on the gloss varnish before the decal is transferred, and the softener is carefully dropped on from above only once it is settled. Once it is on, do not touch the decal; for a few minutes it softens and tears easily. Only after it is completely dry is the area sprayed with varnish.
This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
