1:35 Firemen big set N°2

1:35 Firemen big set N°2, the second large box of firefighters

A bulkier figure set in 1:35 scale with a firefighting subject, according to the designation in the name the second of its kind. The manufacturer does not give the number of figures in the designation, so you will not find it here as a binding statement; the words big set do, however, tell this box apart from the smaller sets of the same series. The castings are resin and are supplied without paints.

Widening a finished scene

A second large set makes sense above all where you already have an incident scene laid out and it lacks depth. The added figures make it possible to divide the action into two planes, an active group at the front and a second activity at the back. That leads the viewer through the scene and it stops looking like a row of figures set in a single line.

Working with a larger number of castings

The procedure is the same for every figure: wash, degrease, dry, cut off the casting remains, sand the seams with your airways protected and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. With a larger number of figures it pays to paint in batches by the same steps rather than figure by figure; that holds a consistent shade of the gear. Bring the differences in only in the details and in the degree of grime. Apply the dust and soot to all the figures last and with the same technique, so that the group reads as one whole.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who are widening a firefighting scene already under way
• Builders of larger dioramas with several planes of action
• Collectors of civilian rescue subjects
• Painters who want to paint figures in batches

The castings are supplied in their raw state, without paints, glue or a base.
